Following the recent success of after school clubs with Leverhulme Primary and St Stephen's & All Martyrs we would like to extend the opportunity to all children, aged from 7 to 17 years, in the Bolton area to learn a sport that can be played by all regardless of physical ability.  We will offer fun games and exercises to improve all levels of bowlers.

If you are interested contact Graham by text or e-mail or just turn up on Saturday mornings.  A small charge of £1.50 will be charged to non members to cover the cost of a drink and biscuits following the sessions.  Parents are welcome and encouraged to come and watch.  Tea & coffee will be available from the kitchen.

The Club have four Level 2 coaches, supported by volunteers and Level 1 coaches, and we look forward to seeing you there.

There will be a break over the Christmas/New Year period.

I love what I do, and do what I love!!!'

I lead voluntary sessions for Age UK Bolton for the over 50s (since 2011) in 'Chair Based Exercise'; adding standing 'Strength and Balance' Exercise (Jan18). In the past, I have also had training in Dancing with Dementia; and Exercise Leadership in Oomph training (Nov22); Dance Skills (Oct23), Exercise and Mental Health (Nov23); Mental Health First Aid Champion (Jun24).    I always try to research and maintain current knowledge.

I keep the sessions light hearted, and try to make each sessions fun and unique.  Everyone is welcome; some people have just come along to sit and watch, but their feet soon start tapping along with some of the music.

I am old fashion and work from CDs, so anyone can bring their favourite CDs and we can make-up different movements to them.

The sessions include:  warm-up, mobility, pulse raisers, stretches, strengthening, cool-down, and anything else I can mix-in, and sometimes we sing as well.   So as well as keeping fit; making new friends; chats and socialising there is lots of laughter and all for FREE!!!  Refreshments afterwards.

Day: Tuesday's.  Session starts: 11am-12noon.  (Library is open from 10am. I am set-up by 10.30am for any questions etc.)

Venue: Little Lever Library & Health Centre, 36 Market Street, Little Lever, Bolton BL3 1HH.

We play lawn bowls at the Club, which involves bending and delivering a bowl towards a target, (the Jack). It ranges from friendly Social Bowling to a fairly high competitive level.

The five taster sessions are free, with guidance provided by a qualified coach or an experienced bowler.  After the taster sessions you will have the opportunity to join the club.  A reduced membership is available for new players. See the Club website for full details of membership and availability of taster sessions.

We believe that this activity is designed to be inclusive and welcoming for individuals with additional needs. However, we would recommend contacting the provider before attending, just to confirm they can accommodate your specific requirements.

The club was formed in 1980. The current playing surface is a MastergreenTM carpet installed by Dales Sports Surfaces in October 2013. It is World Bowls Association approved and complies with WBA standards.

The Mastergreen surface allows play to take place all year, weather permitting, and offers bowling for everyone, from easy going social to very competitive. We have 80+ playing members ranging from National Champions and County players to newer members who have taken up the game in the last few years.

Our year is divided into a Summer Season, (April to September), and a Winter Season, (October to March).

SUMMER.
There are weekly leagues: Singles on Wednesday, and Pairs on Thursday morning. Progressive knockout competitions in various formats take place through the season. Fixed Day competitions, also in various formats, (Singles, Pairs, Triples), are held throughout the season.  They are at weekends and sometimes Bank Holidays. Social Bowling takes place on Monday Evening (18.15 for an 18.30 start), Thursday afternoons, (13.15 for a 13.30 start, and those Saturday afternoons when the green is not used for Club or County events, (13.15 for a 13.30 start).. Some weekday afternoons members will arrive for a friendly roll up or a practice.

WINTER

Social Bowling also takes place on the above days, although the Monday session switches to the afternoon.  There is also a Winter Pairs League on Wednesdays.

We also operate a Play Bowls/Keep Active scheme where potential members can join in five sessions free of charge before they decide if they would like to join the club.  Current Full Playing Membership is £130

Visitors are welcome at social bowling sessions, subject to payment of a green fee.
All players must wear flat green bowling shoes and there are some available for use at the club. We also have available a selection of bowls.
